's cincinnati. it shows a 6,000 vote lead for romney right now. we haven't included those in the official numbers yet. they haven't been reported to the republican party headquarters. by our estimate, romney slightly ahead of santorum in ohio, but still, plenty of time for stuff to happen. we're watching ohio very, very closely. you can see how close it is right there, by our estimate, once again, mitt romney slightly ahead of rick santorum. let's take a look at idaho right now. we have not projected a winner in idaho even though romney is way ahead of everybody else with 12% of the vote in. romney with 78%, 11% for ron paul, 8% for rick santorum, 3% for newt gingrich. let's go to john king and talk ability ohio. the numbers show santorum slightly ahead, but for viewers just tuning in, we say this, and we say it boldly, and we say it exclusively. romney is really slightly ahead of rick santorum. >> by about 3,000 votes by our count because we're going to show you the numbers here. this is the official count, 78% from hamilton county shows romney with a big lead. we have from dana bash mor

, that it was not until 12:30 a.m. eastern time that nbc was able to call ohio for mitt romney. even that call was just mitt romney as the apparent winner. because for five hours after poll closing it had been so close that it was impossible to say who had won the state. in fact right now mitt romney is the apparent winner of ohio because his margin of victory is only 1% and the entire vote isn't in yet. otio has been called for mitt romney but this was really, really close. still though as steve schmidt argued very well last night even when it's really, really close there is no prize for second place. even when it is that close a race. even a one-point race or zero-point race you would rather be the guy who won even if it's by a little than the guy who did not win. so ohio goes down not as a tie, not as otio but a win, in the mitt romney column and that matters. a win that is frankly as important to mr. romney's presidential prospects as his win was in michigan a week ago. in both those big important bell-weathery states, rick santorum gave mitt romney a run for his money. but ohio and michigan also s

. front-runner mitt romney is in georgia today, a state with 76 delegates, the most of any super tuesday state. and rick santorum, newt gingrich and ron paul all making the rounds on the sunday morning talk shows. today, ten states are holding primaries and caucuses on tuesday with a whopping 419 delegates at stake. that's the most delegates up for grabs on any single day of the primary season. the contenders need 1,144 delegates in all to clinch the gop nomination. and here's where they stand. romney has 182 delegates. santorum has 79. newt gingrich with 39. and paul with 38. mitt romney now has the backing of two top conservatives in congress. how majority leader eric cantor. and tom coburn. >> i look to super tuesday, i look to mitt romney winning all of virginia's delegates and, in fact, i cast my vote already in virginia for mitt romney, and i'm here today to tell you that i'm endorsing mitt romney in his candidacy for the presidency of the united states. >> senator coburn endorsed romney today in an op-ed piece in the oklahoman. romney is also celebrating a victory in washington st

's a messaging issue that the candidates and their campaigns have to deal with. put it this way. if romney had been selected the nominee back in february or early february or mid-february, would that have precluded his -- the words leaving his mouth about, well, you know, i really don't care for the poor. the very poor. what does that have to do with how long the process is? so i think a lot of campaigns want to jump on the process because their candidates don't know how to keep their mouth shut about -- without saying something that causes them angst. you can't blame the process for that. that is -- that's more of an ability to, again, stay on the message. the economic message. again, that would have nothing to do with rick santorum's fakeoff on social issues and nor would it have anything to do with the rush limbaugh controversy because i would submit to you that if romney were the nomny, he'd be in a much tougher spot given what rush limbaugh just said with the cameras coming to him every day. now the cameras can at least go to three or four different other people and get a sound bite from
